God knew how much we loved you, as he looked down from above, 
He watched you every moment, impressed by all your love
He knew that you had kindness, he knew how much you cared
The gentleness about you, the generosity you shared

So when he saw you troubled, as you fought against the tide
He closed your tired eyelids and opened his arms wide
Then carried you back with him, to a special place to rest
To make sure you were peaceful, because he knew you were the best

We didn’t want to lose you but you did not go alone
We will always be there with you, now the Lord has brought you home
